E-cinemas’ traffic rises 30–50% during coronavirus self-isolation
MOSCOW, Apr 1 (PRIME) -- Traffic of Russian online cinemas has increased by 30–50% due to the self-isolation regime, the Internet-video Association and companies told PRIME on Wednesday.
“Subscriptions to online cinemas and purchases (of content) are rising. In fact, we have an analogue of extended New Year holidays,” the association’s Director Alexei Byrdin said.
A spokesperson for e-cinema Okko said its attendance rose by 30% on March 16–22 in comparison to the previous week.
E-cinema ivi also reported higher demand. “The media consumption structure is changing, people are moving to online,” its spokesperson said.
